Professor Mona Siddiqui
Mona Siddiqui is Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies and Assistant Principal Religion and Society at the University of Edinburgh and Chair of BBC’s Scottish Religious Advisory Committee.
Professor Siddiqui is well known internationally as a public intellectual and a speaker on issues around religion, ethics and public life. She is a regular commentator in the media, known especially for her appearances on BBC Radio 4, particularly its award-winning The Moral Maze, and BBC Radio Scotland’s Thought for the Day. In June 2016, she became a panellist on BBC Radio 4’s award winning The Moral Maze.
Professor Siddiqui has also served as an elected member of the Nuffield Council of Bioethics and as a member of the British Medical Associations’ Medical Ethics Committee. A fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and in 2011 she was awarded an OBE for her contribution to interfaith services.
Ian Montagu joined ScotCen as a Researcher in November 2015, having previously been based in the Social Attitudes team at NatCen. In addition to the development of the organisation’s two flagship public opinion websites WhatScotlandThinks and What UK Thinks: EU, Ian works on both the British and Scottish Social Attitudes Surveys which track changing public attitudes to a range of different political and social issues.
